LOCAL PELLET MILL

Mini-pellets are easily consumed by all goats. The higher compression during manufacturing creates minimal intake issues when compared to whole grain mixes or larger pellets.

Goat 2

CAPRINE IMMUNO-BOOST

A special designed trace mineral, vitamin, and additive pack that is provided through the entire Prestige Goat product lineup. RCS designed this supplement to provide the proper amounts of these micro nutrients for all goat diets.

Feeding Types

Female Doeling:
Female doelings switch from Prestige 18% Starter to Prestige 16% Doeling Grower. This feed is fed ad libitum with high-quality alfalfa or grass hay until six months old. At this time, reduce Prestige 16% Grower to 1.5–2.0 lb per goat per day, depending on hay quality. The Prestige 16% Grower will be limit fed from 1.5–2.0 lb from six months of age to their kidding date. Allow the doeling to meet the remainder of its intake by consuming high-quality hay and/or pasture. Please contact your NEMO Feed representative for precise feeding directions.

Male Buckling:
Male bucklings switch from Prestige 18% Starter to Prestige 16% Meat Goat Grower / Finisher. They are offered the product ad libitum with a small amount of roughage or bedding to maximize average daily gain (ADG). Continue to provide ration until 60 lb of body weight. If you continue to grow bucklings to heavier finished weight, please switch to the Prestige 14% Meat Goat Finisher. Continue feeding the 14% Finisher with a limited amount of roughage in the form of dry hay.

LEARN MORE KID CARE TIPS

Feed colostrum within the first 0–6 hours to provide the proper immunoglobulins to develop the newborn’s immune system. Provide 1 fl oz ounce of whole colostrum, or colostrum replacement, for every lb of birth weight.

Provide kid milk replacer as an ideal whole milk replacement until weaning. Offer Prestige 18% Kid Starter at day seven. When the starter is consumed at 6–8 oz per kid per day, it is an ideal time to wean. Typical age of weaning is 6–8 weeks.

It is highly recommended that all kids are vaccinated with a veterinary recommended clostridium vaccine. It is suggested to vaccinate at 1–2 weeks during time of de-budding, and reboost the kid with an injection four weeks later to help prevent enterotoxemia or “overeating disease.”

If scours occur, it is critical to keep your goat kids hydrated. Kid electrolytes are made for the young goat kid’s needs. It is recommended to provide an electrolyte feeding between AM and PM milk feeding.

Prestige 18% Kid Starter contains a balanced source of protein, digestible fiber, carbohydrates, minerals, and vitamins to rapidly stimulate the development of the rumen. Offer high-quality alfalfa or grass hay at 8 weeks of age. Offering hay prior to rumen development will reduce body growth and increase the opportunity for illness and disease to develop.

Continue to offer Prestige 18% Kid Starter and dry hay ad libitum until daily consumption reaches 1.5 lb of Kid Starter. Then, switch to Prestige 16% Doeling Grower or Prestige 16% Goat Grower/Finisher.
