Family Coop Chicken Layer

Features & Benefits

Family Coop Layer is designed to give hens the proper protein and energy balance needed, along with calcium, so they can produce many eggs.

Layer Tip:
When pullets reach sexual maturity and daylight hours are long enough, a healthy, mature pullet will begin laying eggs. In the spring, when days naturally get longer, hens will naturally increase egg production. In the fall, when daylight hours become shorter, egg production will naturally decrease. If you want your hens to continue laying through the fall and winter months, you will need to provide light to extend daylight hours to a total of 16 hours per day. This can be done by using a timer that turns lights on early in the morning and off later in the evening.

Feeding Directions

Family Coop Layer should be offered free choice. Daily consumption will vary between 0.20–0.28 lb per bird per day, depending on breed and size of hens.

During peak egg-laying and as hens age, free-choice oyster shells may be offered to help maintain eggshell quality. There is no need to add extra calcium from another source. Keep clean, fresh water available at all times. Hens need a clean nest, so be sure to provide plenty of nesting options.
